Hey guys!! I’ve been a little swamped this past week so I have a short, sweet, and simple post for you today 🙂 . . .
I love being able to make a quick and easy healthy breakfast when I don’t really feel like ‘eating’ . . . one of my favorite brekkies is a Kale Banana Smoothie, especially in the summer. I love keeping bananas in the freezer for such a time! (*Side note – when you freeze bananas, make sure you PEEL them before you freeze them). I like getting the reeeaallyy ripe bananas that are good and sweet . . . I don’t add any sweetener to my smoothies so I like to make sure my fruits are sweet!
Grab a frozen banana, a stalk or two of kale (washed and stripped off the stem), and some milk – put everything in a blender. Blend until smooth and enjoy!! It’s that easy and so good!
Sometimes I use room-temp bananas if I haven’t had time to freeze any; when I do that, I like to pour my smoothie over ice.
Optional add-ins: bluebs, any kind of berry, flax seed, wheat germ, oats, coconut . . . really the possibilities are endless!
If you don’t have a NutriBullet you use for smoothies, you gotta get one!! Seriously the thing is a.ma.zing! I love using it for any smoothie with greens in it, especially kale. Some blenders don’t seem to grind the kale enough and I prefer my SMOOTH-ies smooth 🙂
