Who’s in love with all the black and white plaid this year? My husband and I decided to change our holiday decor this year, so we went with the plaid, pine, rustic kind of theme. We love it!!
Add some plaid and felt with this cute DIY Snowflake Hoop!
One of my favorite DIY’s I did this year, was these adorable little hoop ornaments for my tree. They really gave my tree the overall feel I was looking for. I ordered these hoops on Amazon (set of 12) and they are great quality and very smooth. Perfect for this little project.
And along with this Farmhouse Christmas DIY Snowflake Hoop, I have some great decor going on!
Supplies needed for the DIY Snowflake Hoop:
- 15″ square of checked or plaid fabric (I found mine at Walmart!)
- 12″ square of red felt
- 12″ square of HeatnBond Lite Iron-On Adhesive
- Printable snowflake pattern
- 12″ embroidery hoop, wood
- sewing machine and thread
- hot glue gun and glue sticks
- small piece of mistletoe or pine
- small piece of cream ribbon, or color of choice
Step 1:
Print pattern and cut out a red felt snowflake.
Step 2:
Fuse the adhesive to your felt snowflake. Cut the adhesive to the shape of the snowflake.
Step 3:
Following the HeatnBond directions, fuse the snowflake to your piece of plaid fabric, being careful to center it.
Step 4:
Stitch closely along the entire edge of the snowflake like this:
Step 5:
Position the piece into the hoop pulling it tightly and tightening the screw to hold it tightly.
Step 6:
Lightly run hot glue along the back of the hoop to keep the fabric from fraying or slipping. Attach your mistletoe and ribbon to the front with hot glue.
