Burlap Rose Garland
This year I went with a different color scheme for my fall decor – usually I’m all about oranges, reds, yellows, etc. but this year I chose navy, tan, and cream. My couch pillows and blankets are navy and cream, so it simplified swapping out seasonal decor for now. 😉
I was so glad I had rolls of navy and cream burlap from Burlap Fabric (these are the ones I used — this 4″ navy and this 4″ off-white) because they were perfect for quickly rolling flowers for a burlap rose garland for my mantel!
I love that the edges are nicely serged so that there aren’t a bunch of loose strands from fraying!
Here’s what I did to make my Burlap Rose Garland:
The first step was making the roses.
I have step-by-step instructions for the roses in this post. I recommend just watching the video in that post because you’ll see how simple it is!
(The only thing I did differently from the video was to fold my burlap in half so it was 2″ wide instead of 4″ – this makes nice, full, bulky roses.)
Aren’t these so pretty in navy and off-white?? 🙂
Once my roses were assembled, I hooked them on to some cotton rope I had in my craft stash. I clipped the roses onto the rope with bobby pins and hot glue! But attach them however you like!
This look is different from my usual “fall look,” but I really love it! Burlap is cozy and festive!
I also did simple toilet paper pumpkins that Autumn has posted on her blog – such an inexpensive, quick DIY to add some pumpkins to your mantel!
