These DIY Wood Bead Keychains are a cute and chic gift for all your girlfriends! They can be used as keychains, tassels, zipper pulls, etc…
Are you in a crafting mood? These are so easy and fun, and can be made in a short time (plus allow extra time for the paint to dry). Choose your own colors and make your own custom look. These keychains would be so much fun to make at your next girls’ night or ladies’ get-together!
I ordered a big bag of wood beads from Amazon. They were even more inexpensive than I thought they would be! Before I made a bunch of keychains, I made some fun orange slice garland and used several of the wood beads! Grab the quick tutorial for the garland HERE.
We sisters love working on wood projects. If you are a lover of wood projects like we are, ;-), you’ll probably find this cool key holder project enticing. It has farmhouse vibes that so many of us love!
Ok, back to the project at hand…. my DIY WOOD BEAD KEYCHAINS.
Here’s your supply list:
First, I did a different technique when painting the beads to give them a bit of a weathered look. I mixed a small amount of acrylic paint with water (about 2 parts paint to 1 part water). I mixed it thoroughly and then rolled the wood beads in it, until they were covered in paint. Then I gently rubbed the beads with a cotton cloth to rub away any excess drips and just a bit of the paint to weather them. I let them dry overnight.
Next, cut your suede lace to about 20″. Slide it onto the keychain until halfway and tie it so both sides are even.
Then you’ll put both strings through each of the 4 beads. And tie it again at the bottom. I trimmed the ends to about 1 1/2″.
Try these in lots of color combinations! I chose to go with more neutral and pastel tones, but I bet they would be neat in bold colors too!
Look how cute this one is as a zipper pull for my niece’s diaper bag!
You can find this cute and practical diaper bag HERE by the way.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and hope that you will be making some Wood Bead Keychains very soon!!
