EASY FARMHOUSE DECOR PALLET MAILBOX IDEA
When we moved into our new house a few months ago, I knew the old bent pitiful mailbox in the front yard had to go. We had some leftover pallet wood from another project, and came up with a mailbox that we love. I knew I wanted some fresh greenery (living in AZ, we can always use more green) and tin . . . so off we went to Hobby Lobby and grabbed just a few simple elements to make a mailbox just the way we wanted!
I put together the supplies:
- pallet wood
- mailbox (we ordered this from Amazon)
- metal tin
- greenery
- wood numbers
- acrylic paint
First cut the pallet wood to the dimensions you want it. We wanted ours to be about 27″x10.”
Add slats to the back of your pallet pieces and nail them together.
Next we laid everything out to see where we wanted to put the different things.
Once you have a plan in place, mark where you will attach the mailbox and the metal tin.
The metal tin was half off at Hobby Lobby which I thought was a great deal! 🙂 They have plenty of options – pretty much every part of this mailbox you can switch up to make it your own!
And the greenery was half off too 🙂 I love that Hobby Lobby has floral half off every other week.
We attached the tin and the mailbox to the pallet boards and put the greenery in the tin.
I didn’t glue the greenery in the tin because I think it will be nice to change it out with the seasons! I might change to some big cream chrysanthemums later in the summer 🙂
Next I painted the numbers and attached them to the pallet wood. I had coral paint in all the before-the-project-started pictures . . . but then I got inspired by a home decor store that I went to and changed to black and white stripes. Do whatever color/style makes it yours!
