When I found out I was having a baby girl, I was so excited to decorate her nursery in all the pretty things. It can be so easy to spend a fortune when there is so much out there to buy! Let me show you around my nursery and let you in on some great buys to decorate a baby nursery on a budget.
DIAPER BAG/BACKPACK
My diaper bag is a HaloVa Multi-Function Diaper Bag – $35.
It has a ton of pockets, insulated bottle section, handles to carry, or straps to wear as a backpack. The look of soft linen but it very nice and sturdy!
Everyone comments on how many pockets it has and how easy it is to carry as well as keep organized.
FUR RUG
I found a remnant at Joanns . . . there is always a cart full of rolled-up fabrics that are 1 yard pieces or less. It’s usually near the cutting counter. They are 50% off of whatever the current price per yard of that particular fabric is. SO – this fur was on sale for $5 a yard at the time, so I got this whole piece for under $3! I had looked at rugs and found this one on Wayfair, but knew the price was not going to fit into my budget!
RUFFLE CURTAINS
My mom got me these Your Zone Ruffle Girls Bedroom Curtains from Walmart! I had been looking at these ones on Amazon, but once again, there was a WAY better price that couldn’t be beat.
PINK LETTERBOARD
This one is a decent price, but I really like the more “rustic” stained wood color frame of mine. Plus, I found mine at JCPenney on a day that they were giving out their $10 off $10 purchase coupons, and it was on clearance for like $12. So for $2 – yeah I went with this one. If you’ve never gone on a $10 off $10 coupon Saturday, you’re missing out! It is so. much. fun. 🙂
PEACH AND GOLD VELVET PLUSH THROW
I love this blanket!! It was the perfect color that I wanted, plus the price is fantastic. It is a 50″ x 70″ blanket (big!) currently on sale for $12.99. You can find several varieties of this plush throws at JCPenney.
CROCHETED DIAMOND BERRY STITCH AFGHAN
I made this afghan using a free pattern from Daisy Farm Crafts. They have the cutest simple afghan patterns. Love the gingham ones!! I got the yarn at Joanns (Big Twist) using their 50% off coupons that they offer quite often.
MINT HAMPER
I couldn’t find a link for the collapsible canvas laundry hamper – I got it at a Bealls Outlet for around $9 I believe. This one is available in a ton of cute prints tho and is very similar.
GLIDER ROCKER
Amazon for the win once again! This glider rocker is SO comfortable and available in a lot of different color options. Feels really high quality and like I said – super comfortable!
NAME SIGN
There are sooo many cute name signs on Etsy and I knew I *needed* one for above the crib 😀 I experimented and tried writing her name in pencil on foam board from Hobby Lobby, then painting with acrylic paint (which I could choose in my exact color!). I then framed it with hobby wood from Home Depot that I painted a dark grey (acrylic craft paint), then hot glued it around the foam board to frame it in. Couldn’t have been simpler, or thriftier.
CRIB
This 4-in-1 convertible crib & changer from Wayfair, the Storkcraft Portofino in white, is so perfect for us. I love how the changing table is connected to the crib, and the 3 drawers will provide needed storage. We also got our crib mattress from Wayfair.
DRESSER
Along with a little girl comes a lot of dresses, shirts, headbands, bows, shoes . . . . This dresser holds SO much and it is the cutest design perfect for a baby room. My parents bought us this Mainstays Storybook 6 Drawer Dresser from Walmart, but it is also available on Amazon as well!
SIGNS
These adorable signs are from Hobby Lobby of course. They have a ton of selections in their nursery decor aisles. Make sure to use a 40% off coupon (available on their website or app), and always check the clearance aisles! I’ve found some great buys there.
SHEET
I love the neutral versatility of this Grey Arrow Print Fitted Crib Sheet. Walmart also has playard sheets that are super cheap but good quality.
