We have a new niece on the way (YAY! – the last niece was born almost 10 years ago!), so we’re all about baby girl stuff right now 🙂 This super adorable floral baby headband is a cinch to make, no sewing required.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- floral fabric scrap – you’ll just need about a 14” x 5” piece (there are a lot of cute selections at Hobby Lobby!)
- hot glue gun
- thin ribbon to match fabric
- 1 button
First I cut my fabric to the size I wanted to fit a 6-12 month baby. It really just depends on the baby’s head size.
Next you’ll fold the strip long ways, right sides together, and hot glue down the edge. Press it with your fingers and let cool.
Now turn the long tube inside out!
Hot glue the 2 edges together.
Now pinch that seam and had some glue to hold, just to give it a scrunched/pleated look where you’ll add the flower.
It’ll look like this.
Now to make the flower, you’ll take your ribbon and form a loop and glue. Continue to make loops and continue gluing in a circle until you have a whole flower.
I also added some smaller loops just to add a little dimension to the flower.
Add a button to the center, and glue to the pinched part of the headband!
Pretty pretty! 🙂 Soft and stretchy and comfortable enough for a newborn!
Beautiful ideas for very special babies in my life. Thank you for sharing.
