Budget Friendly Clothespin Collage Frame
If you’re like me and have family spread all across the country and even overseas, pictures are SO SO important to have on display! Check out this simple tutorial for a neat way to display several photos in a Clothespin Collage Frame. And as a plus, it’s extremely budget friendly… this project only cost me $10, plus a few supplies I already had on hand.
BUDGET FRIENDLY CLOTHESPIN COLLAGE FRAME
I love how this looks on my long hallway wall. Making it the size I did allows for 2 rows of photos to be hung, any size up to 5×7’s. The shape and size of this project makes it especially convenient for displaying photos on a hallway wall.
Supply List:
-Piece of white or unfinished trim (I used a 10 ft piece)
-Saw
-White Paint
-Stain
-Electric Sander or Sand Paper
-Wood Glue or Fasteners (I like the corrugated fasteners for wood for joining corners)
-Caulk
-Twine or String
-Stapler and Staples
-Clothespins
Step 1: Cut your trim down to the correct size. (I cut my side pieces 16″ and my top and bottom pieces 36″.) You will need to miter your corners for your trim pieces to fit together properly.
Step 2: Glue and clamp your pieces together. ( I also added the metal fasteners to the corners and used some caulk to fill in the gaps.)
Step 3: Paint, Sand, and Stain to get the desired weathered look.
Step 4: Using the stapler, attach twine or string to the back on one side, stretch it across, and attach it on the opposite side. (I left mine slightly loose, so the photos would hang a little lower in the center and angle up near the sides.)
Step 5: Hang, and attach clothespins and photos! I hung my frame with Command strips, my FAVORITE way to hang frames!
