Chocolate Peanut Butter Sheet Cake
Ingredients
Cake
- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 cup butter
- 1/4 cup baking cocoa
- 1 cup coca cola
- 1/2 cup buttermilk (or 1 T. vinegar, then top off with milk, to 1/2 cup)
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs
Frosting
- 1 stick butter
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 6 Tbs. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 10 chopped Reese cups
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°
- Lightly grease and flour a 12x18 sheet cake pan.
For the Cake
- Mix all dry ingredients in a mixing bowl.
- In a saucepan, bring the butter, cocoa, cola, and buttermilk to a boil, then add vanilla
- Add the boiled mixture to the dry mixture.
- While mixing, add 2 eggs and beat until batter is smooth.
- Bake at 350° for 20-25 min.
- Bring margarine, peanut butter and buttermilk to a rapid boil.
- Add vanilla and powdered sugar.
- Frost cake while the frosting is still hot.
- Gently press chopped Reese's into the warm frosting.
- Let cool completely and cut into bars.
