Crochet Scallop Edge Plush Throw
Feel like crocheting, but only have time for a quick project? This one is for you! Push away the winter blues by snuggling up with this super soft fabric and chunky yarn. You’ll have a completed project in no time. This Crochet Scallop Edge Blanket is so snuggly and cozy and will look charming and comforting in your living room, family room, or bedroom!
I started with a piece of this Sew Lush Fabric from Joann Fabrics. It comes 57″ wide, so I purchased 1 1/4 yds and cut it to approximately 52″ x 40″. It is SERIOUSLY soft and lush! The fabric is priced at $14.99 a yard… with a 50% off coupon, it makes for a great deal!! You could also use any kind of fleece fabric as well.
You’ll need to finish off the edges of the lush fabric or it will begin to fray. You can simply set your machine to zig zag and stitch along the fabric edge or fold under 1/4″ and sew a small hem. If you are using fleece, this step can be skipped, since unfinished edges of fleece do not fray.
My yarn choice, which I love, is Bernat’s Softee Chunky. I purchased 4 skeins, all with coupons of course. š
Using a large needle and yarn, blanket stitch all around the edge of the fabric.
Then, with a crochet hook size M, you are ready to begin crocheting!

Hello, love the picture of this pattern. Confused on the instructions. Is round 2 the blanket stitch? Where there is an asterisk it says chain 2. Does that mean when I am done with the second round I should only have 2 chain 2s? Just one side of a corner has 2 chains?
