After I made my homemade hot cocoa mix last week, I decided to come up with these super cute diy hot cocoa gift kits! They’re perfect for gifting to teacher, students, mailman, babysitter, hairdresser . . . you name it, anyone is sure to love it. Because who doesn’t love a cup of hot cocoa now and again, especially on a chilly day?!
DIY HOT COCOA GIFT KIT
:: pin it NOW for LATER ::
I’m planning to make these DIY hot cocoa gift kits as Christmas gifts for my Sunday school students. I just loved how excited they got when we had hot cocoa several weeks ago. So, I know they are just going to LOVE these, especially having all the good toppings that’ll make a ‘more-than-delicious’ cup of hot cocoa!
Start with either packets of hot cocoa or our own 5 INGREDIENT HOMEMADE HOT COCOA MIX
If you make the homemade hot cocoa mix, you can measure out individual servings into clear treat bags (like I did in the above photo.) ⬆️⬆️⬆️
Here’s what you need:
clear treat bags
free buffalo plaid treat bag toppers printable
bag of mini marshmallows or mallow bits
crushed peppermint pieces
(I have found these to be wonderful! It’s easier than crushing all those candy canes, and it doesn’t stick to the other crushed pieces.)
mini chocolate chips
mug and gift bag
(🤦🏼♀️um, I think it’s time for a manicure! 😆)
I put my mini marshmallows, mini chocolate chips and crushed peppermint pieces into 3 clear treat bags.
Then I placed all 3 bags on top of each other, staggering them like this. ⬇️⬇️⬇️
I grabbed them all together at the top, folded the longest one over and stapled the treat bag topper to the top.

Put your hot cocoa packets [or little baggies of the homemade hot cocoa], your marshmallows, chocolate chips and peppermint baggie kit, into a gift bag with a mug and you’re good to go!
I found my adorable snowman mug at Dollar Tree! They carry some really cute stuff this time of year. And you can’t beat paying only $1. 🙌🏻
This penguin one on Amazon is stinkin’ cute!
You pretty much cannot go wrong with a gift like this! It’s easy to put together (literally can be done in like 5 minutes!) and is ‘homemade,’ which people LOVE!!
