MAKE YOUR OWN METAL AND PALLET WOOD CHRISTMAS SIGN!
When my husband brought some scrap sheet metal home from work, I knew I had to make one of the metal & pallet wood signs we had seen at Hobby Lobby.
Thankfully, you can easily buy the sheet metal on Amazon if you don’t have someone to bring you scraps home ;-P
First, we cut some pallet wood pieces to the right size to frame the piece of metal.
These screws work great for attaching the wood to the metal.
The next step was to draw a Christmas phrase on to the sign.
I hand-lettered my “Joy to the World” phrase on to the sign, but there are plenty of templates available, like this Oh Holy Night one that I love, or this one . . . you can just print off the image and then transfer it onto your sign using this technique! (It works for metal too!) –
I used a white oil-based Sharpie and got a great result.
Lastly I decorated it with some winter greenery and berries.
Of course I used my favorite place to buy the greenery and berries – Hobby Lobby has THE BEST realistic-looking floral department. And plus, every other week, all of the floral is 50% off. I found these ones in the Christmas floral department.
Anyone else love light gray fur for winter decorating? I love it.
And there it is, a beautiful sign for my Christmas decorating! Can’t wait to use it this season!
We have so many projects and printables for Christmas here at Six Clever Sisters, because Christmas is our very favorite holiday! Here are a few . . .
