FONDANT ROSES
Start by rolling a small amount of fondant to about 1/8″ thickness. Then cut a strip approximately 3/4″ wide and 10″ long.
Take the strip of fondant and starting at one end, begin rolling it in your fingers and pinching the fondant together around the base. As you get farther from the center of the rose, twist more loosely allowing for some ruffling like so….
Just play with it… every rose will turn out just a little different! When you get your rose to the desired size, twist along the underside, and using scissors, clip it just under the base. Now let it air dry on wax paper for several hours or even days.
The fondant roses will become very hard and almost unbreakable which makes them super easy to work with.
Knowing how to make these adorable little fondant rose cupcake toppers is especially helpful if you are on a tight budget. I estimate that these cost about $.o5-$.10 apiece. You can find some very similar at Walmart for $4.97 for 8!!!! And only available in one color!
Enjoy making your fondant roses!!!
