DIY Kids’ Dry Erase Marker Table
I posted on Instagram yesterday about the table I got for free from the curb a while back . . . here I’ll show you what I did with it! I made this before my brother Nate’s graduation party and it was a huuuuuge hit with all the kiddos š
A few months ago, I found this Krylon Dry Erase Clear Spray at JoAnn’s for $2.97! I knew I had to get it . . . I wasn’t sure what to do with it, but it was too good of a deal to pass up š
Then, a few weeks ago, my sisters and I were walking around our neighborhood one evening and I saw this outdoor, clear glass table on the curb. As soon as I saw it, I knew – that’s what I have to use my dry erase spray for!! It had one leg that had rusted out so it wasn’t sitting flat on the ground. After I got it home (with my Dad’s help and my brother’s truck š ), Dad sawed off the legs a few inches so it would sit flat on the ground – it ended up the cutest little height š Perfect for little people to color on!
After Dad fixed up the legs, I washed the glass top off and painted it with a few coats of white Gripper paint (I got mine for less than $10 at Home Depot). After that paint had cured, I sprayed on the Krylon Dry Erase Clear Spray. This paint had to cure for 4 days . . . after it had cured, I flipped my table upside-down and spray painted the legs highlighter yellow.
I set it the table in the backyard during the graduation party and everyone loved it š I got a little metal bucket and spray painted white and put it in the center of the table . . . I filled it with washable dry erase markers and a bottle of Expo Dry Erase Liquid Cleaner. And I placed a roll of paper towels on the table too š
Cleaning the table is fairly easy . . . just spray it with the cleaner and wipe it with a paper towel! I made sure to wipe down the table every 15 minutes or so – that way it wouldn’t dry on there forever š
After I made this table, I started looking around online for one and I came across this one for $200! I love when my DIY projects turn out so much cheaper than if I had bought the item!!
