ORANGE SLICE GARLAND
I love making easy and budget friendly decor. Orange Slice Garland is so fun and easy! With the farmhouse decor being so popular right now, this is a quick way to add a fresh bit of charm to your home without costing you much of anything.
I think Orange Slice Garland fits in all year with certain home styles, but it certainly is PERFECT for the holidays! I like to hang it with some fancier greenery, like Rochester garland. (Walmart has a super good deal on that! 9 feet for $6.88!)
Isn’t that just CUTE? Ahhhh, the rustic charm. š
I dried orange slices in the oven and strung them with wood beads (I found this good deal for 1″ beads on Amazon). Some of the beads I colored a distressed white, the others I left natural. I added a little bit of tassel to the ends to finish it off and it was ready to hang!
TO DRY THE ORANGES, just slice them and lay them on parchment lined baking sheets. Place in a 200Ā°-250Ā°oven for several hours. Mine took 3-4 hours. Check them and make sure they feel mostly dry before taking them out. If they are a little wet inside, don’t worry, they will continue to dry out as they hang!
TO DISTRESS THE WOOD BEADS WHITE, water down some white acrylic craft paint, dip the bead and then rub it in a cotton cloth. Let it dry completely.
STRING SOME ORANGE SLICES and beads in whatever pattern you choose! I did a mix of white and natural beads and love the look that gives.
