We LOVE our homemade granola, and it’s always a happy day when more is made and you get the aroma of that yummy deliciousness baking!
Several years ago, our Mom took our traditional granola recipe and experimented with taking the basics of the recipe and turning it into this delicious peanut butter granola! Hands down, it’s the best!! And, we give our lovely Mother complete credit for it!
DELICIOUS PEANUT BUTTER GRANOLA
Oh the love of peanut butter!! There’s not a single sister that dislikes peanut butter. In fact we all LOVE it, whether it’s in a peanut butter banana smoothie, a peanut butter cookie, our peanut butter sheet cake, a Reese’s cup . . . we love anything and everything peanut butter!
Growing up, our Grandpa, “Bapoo” as we called him 🙂 made the BEST homemade peanut butter ice cream. It was the bomb and such a special treat!! As I’m sitting here typing this, it’s bringing back so many memories. Oh, how I miss those days! We’ve had a love for peanut butter since we were little. 🙂
So, when our Mom came up with this peanut butter granola, we knew it was going to be a hit. After all, it has peanut butter in it!
Thank God none of us are allergic to peanuts. I’m not sure what we would do! Ha!
If you’ve never made homemade granola, don’t think it’s hard to do. It’s not AT ALL!
Start by mixing your dry ingredients, which would be the oats, brown sugar and optional nuts.
Whisk the wet ingredients together, which is the peanut butter, HOT water and oil.
You’ll want to whisk it until it’s nice and smooth.
Pour the wet ingredients over the dry and mix until combined.
Dump onto 3 cookie sheets and bake on a low temp for several hours.
THIS is our favorite baking sheet. We couldn’t be happier with it!
This commercial “half-sheet” by Nordic Ware is made from natural aluminum, which means it won’t rust. (I’ve used mine on a regular basis for years and don’t have even one spot of rust on it!)
