BEAUTIFUL SPRING WREATH THAT CAN BE MADE IN A COUPLE OF HOURS
WITH SIMPLE SUPPLIES
A wreath is such an easy way to brighten up an otherwise drab door. We recently got a “Hello” floral doormat from Bed Bath & Beyond {on clearance & it’s SO cute}, and that helped . . . but it still needed a wreath as a finishing touch so I grabbed some scrap felt and a grapevine wreath from Joanns and got to work. It was done in just a couple hours because these flowers are so easy to make! Let me show you how –
THE OATMEAL-COLORED CHRYSANTHEMUM
Start with a strip of felt. This strip is about 15″x3″.
Then fold it in half lengthwise.
Then start snipping the folded edge like this.
This doesn’t have to be absolutely perfect. Just try to keep them roughly the same width and be careful not to snip too far and cut a whole chunk of felt off š
When you’re done it should look like this!
Now start to roll it up tightly, hot glueing as you go . . .
. . . until you have a flower!
THE LEAVES
These are super simple. Just cut some green-toned felt into this shape. I used about 5 leaves per sprig, so for my entire wreath I cut 10 leaf shapes. For size, just make sure they look good next to your flowers.
Then hot glue the leaves on to some type of wire into a sprig shape. I used some floral wire I had on hand.
THE PINK, GRAY, AND WHITE ROSES
For these instructions I’m going to send you right over to my sister’s DIY Yarn Wreath with Felt Roses post for a full explanation!
PUTTING THE WREATH TOGETHER
Get a grapevine wreath and gather your flowers. I also added a metal letter from Hobby Lobby to the center of mine. Of course you still need your glue gun as well.
Place your leaves on first and glue them, then arrange the flowers and glue them on.
Then place the letter in the center and attach to the back of the wreath with fishing line or other string.
