This Sweet Old Lady Baby Costume is so quick, easy, and economical!
You may even be able to put it together with things you already have around the house.
All you need is –
Cotton balls : You’ll use these to make the hat.
A stretchy baby hat : The cotton balls get glued to this to make the white hair. I found one at Goodwill for 50 cents. Just make sure to wash it first š *TIP* Choose a light hat color – it will be easier to cover with the cotton balls.
Hot glue gun : Our favorite kind of glue for projects like this! This is a great one if you need a new one.
Glue the cotton balls all the way around the hat. When it cools, put it on your baby’s head and check for any gaps or spots where you can still see the hat underneath. Fill in the gaps with more cotton balls.
Pearl or vintage necklace : If you don’t have anything, Goodwill is the perfect place to find this!
Scarf : I already had this vintage mustard scarf, also an easy thrift store find.
Dress : Any cotton dress or jumper or blouse will do . . . A cardigan over a blouse is also a great option. Look for accents like a scalloped collar, gold or pearly buttons, or embroidery – something a classy great grandma would wear š This dress is such a cute one, but really, you can find baby dresses like it at Goodwill for under $2, or just use something already in the closet.
Glasses : Weak reading glasses or dress-up glasses. Yet another easy thrift or Walmart find.
Isn’t she just ADORABLE??
