THE BEST HOMEMADE HOT COCOA MIX
So, do you call it a cup of hot cocoa or a cup of hot chocolate? š We’re really curious — haha!
Or do you call it both/either like we do?
Gather these 5 ingredients from the pantry for this easy, peasy recipe. We love shopping at Aldi (see some of THEIR BEST FINDS AND WHY WE LIKE TO SHOP THERE here) and I was very happy to find all but one of the ingredients there!
This is the non-fat dry milk I used for my batch of homemade hot cocoa, from Walmart. The 3 pouches of dry milk were the perfect amount for the recipe. If you’re unfamiliar, dry milk is also sold in a resealable bag that you can scoop your amount from.
Put the dry milk through the sifter to break up any pieces so that it’s smooth.
Add the remaining ingredients. Sift together and mix well.
This recipe makes about 1.5 quarts of dry hot cocoa powder.
For the perfect cup of hot chocolate, mix 1/3 cup of the mix with 1 cup of boiling water.
And hot cocoa most definitely needs to be topped with marshmallows! š
Sip. Enjoy. Repeat. š
